Keith McIntosh
CEO
As one of the most experienced software testing professionals in Eastern
Canada, Keith McIntosh has built PQA with a solid core of quality assurance
(QA) professionals. With over 15 years of experience in all aspects of
software quality assurance, testing and software development, Keith still
takes an active role in project management and provides leadership in test
automation activities and quality assurance processes. Keith continues to
shape the vision and culture at PQA and consistently champions quality
assurance in his activities in PQA's day-to-day operations.
Paul Johnson
Executive Chairman
Paul Johnson is the President of Pine Ridge Associates and the CEO of Quantum 5X Systems Inc.
Pine Ridge Associates is a firm dedicated to helping build successful businesses by providing active mentoring and advice to CEOs of high potential entrepreneurial organizations. Pine Ridge services range from several hours per month of CEO mentoring to engagements as a contract CEO. In addition to his individual clients, Paul has been named the Ted Rogers Executive in Residence for the Wallace McCain Institute at the University of New Brunswick where he serves as a facilitator, instructor, and mentor to 15 entrepreneurial CEO’s. He is also a guest speaker for programs at Queen’s University’s Industrial Relations Centre.
Quantum 5X designs and markets the world’s smallest broadcast quality wireless microphone systems. Q5X’s early customers were in professional sports and the company supplies Major League Baseball, the NHL, and NBA as well as most of North America’s prominent sports broadcasters. The company is now developing markets in the live entertainment sector.
Paul’s prior work history includes venture capital management as a Partner of Fullarton Capital and general management; as both a consultant with McKinsey & Company and as President of Accuride Canada, the world’s largest manufacturer of truck wheels. He has a strong experience base in executive management, technology commercialization, business strategy, industrial sales and marketing and entrepreneurial finance. Paul holds a B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. After living and working in several locations throughout North America, Paul returned to live in London, Ontario with his wife Marjorie and their five children.
Jason K. Powell
President
Over the past year, Jason has worked with several firms as a consultant providing guidance on business realignment to maximize unrealized value and helping companies leverage IT outsourcing to achieve business objectives.
Previously, Jason was the President and Managing Director of the Canadian division of IT outsourcing firm Keane, Inc. In this role, Jason represented Canada on the global leadership team and was responsible for domestic sales and the delivery of “nearshore” IT Services from Keane’s 650 Canadian resources in Halifax and Toronto.
While at Keane, Jason guided the development of nearshore niche value propositions and solution sets to be delivered through Keane’s Business Lines, Verticals and Global Solutions. Jason also led the Canadian team’s efforts to solidify and broaden Keane's reputation as an employer of choice, seeing Keane be selected as a Top 100 Employer in Canada by Maclean’s magazine for three years in a row.
Prior to becoming President and Managing Director, Jason was the Director of Quality & Operations, a role that oversaw the best-in-class assessment of the Canadian delivery centres to SEI’s CMMI Level 5, the first Level 5 assessment in Canada.
Jason was a principal with two technology start up firms and a project manager and architect for one of Canada's largest grocers in the eCommerce space. His vertical experience includes retail, market research, multimedia and healthcare.
Jason is the current President and Chairman of the Board of ITANS, the Information Technology Industry Alliance of Nova Scotia. ITANS is an organization dedicated to the development of an innovative and sustainable IT industry for Nova Scotia and serves its member firms through networking events, training opportunities and advocacy.
Nathaniel Couture
Chief Technology Officer
Nat possesses a Master’s degree in Computer Science and over 5 years of
industry experience as a freelance software developer, performance tester,
QA Manager and project manager. He was recently nominated a Rising Star
in the local IT sector, and has been identified as an emerging leader in
New Brunswick, chosen to participate in the 21inc leadership program. As
the Chief Technology Officer at PQA, Nat provides technical leadership
and guidance to all of PQA’s consultants and is tasked with developing new
service offerings and directs the company's research and development efforts.
He works tirelessly to promote quality assurance and testing in the IT industry
and is an advocate for good processes, progressive testing techniques and
innovative solutions that improve quality and reduce manual efforts. He
has played a key role in defining PQA’s delivery methodologies and is
always looking for new technologies and techniques to ensure PQA continues
to be a leader in the IT industry.
Charles M. Renner
Executive Vice President Business Development
An accomplished, entrepreneurial executive, Chuck Renner joins PQA with over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, including 20 years in the IT services industry. Starting as a quality assurance analyst for the Boeing Company, Mr. Renner has held various positions including director, managing director, CIO, COO, and CSO, and even ran a small eLearning company for several years.
A specialist in revenue generation through direct sales and alliance relationships, Mr. Renner has served the last six years as Director of Keane, Incorporated’s International Business Development and Alliances program, working on location in the US, as well as in Europe and India. During his career, Chuck has been a strategic consultant to such clients as: IBM Corporation, Louis Vitton, Merrill Lynch, Frito-Lay Company, Fleet Bank, Key Bank, Invacare, Morgan Stanley, Solomon Smith Barney, J. C. Bradford & Co, Baptist Hospital, and Providian Insurance Group.
During his career, Mr. Renner has also negotiated strategic alliances with such companies as: Adobe, Microsoft, SAP, IBM, Oracle, HP, Compuware, Informatica, and Endeca.
Mr. Renner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Jamestown College, and in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and traveling to places he’s never been. He currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife and two children.
Stephen Murray
Vice President, Software Quality Assurance
With over 28 years of experience in information technology, Stephen has
an extensive background in business operations management, project
management, systems development and software quality assurance alike. His
vast experience has been obtained through prominent positions held with
private sector corporations, government agencies and information technology
consulting companies across Canada. With this experience, Stephen is
successfully leading the Software Quality Assurance group, focusing on all
delivery related efforts. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science)
degree from the University of New Brunswick.
Phil Lambert
Vice President, PQA Learning Solutions
Phil has over 25 years of experience, with over 15 years of leadership at
the executive level in custom courseware development. He has been a pioneer
in the field, leading teams that developed one of the earliest Learning
Management Systems, one of the industry’s most advanced development tools,
and thousands of hours of engaging, award winning courseware as part of
hundreds of projects for dozens of companies in virtually every industry
vertical. His engineering education and process orientation, coupled with
his creative flair, makes him ideal for leading the multi-faceted teams
required for outstanding courseware development. His Masters in Business
Administration training along with significant experience in setting up
project management systems helps ensure projects are delivered on time
and on budget.
